Kraftwerk Retrospective at the MoMA New York

Starting today and over eight consecutive nights, MoMA NYC is presenting a retrospective on Kraftwerk, the legendary electronica band that was started in 1970 by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider. As a tribute to their historical contributions to both sound and image culture, the museum will be hosting each night a live performance from the band and a 3D visualization of each one of their studio albums covers: Autobahn (1974), Radio-Activity (1975), Trans-Europe Express (1977), The Man-Machine (1978), Computer World (1981), Techno Pop (1986), The Mix (1991), and Tour de France (2003). All performances are now sold out but it’s a rather good excuse to look back at Das Model, one of the band’s signature songs (as well as their first UK number one).
